Details: What is the Lake Clarke Shores CRA

Forest Hill shopping center

The Lake Clarke Shores Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) plays a crucial role in breathing new life into the town’s economic core.

The CRA is a special designated area, or district.  It includes the Forest Hill Boulevard commercial corridor, extending several blocks back from the properties bordering the roadway.

The CRA, created in 2016, is a powerful tool that provides financial incentives to both property owners and potential developers to improve the properties contained within CRA district.  The CRA’s funding is generated when the properties within its area are improved and increase in value.

By focusing on improving infrastructure, enhancing public spaces, and encouraging private investment along Forest Hill Boulevard and elsewhere in the CRA, the Lake Clarke Shores CRA helps create more a vibrant, economically sustainable community. This, in turn, attracts further improvements, leading to an increase in overall property values.

The CRA is governed by the CRA Commission, comprised of the members of the Town of Lake Clarke Shores Town Council filling the positions of CRA Commissioners.
